31 January 2021 – Cutabove Academy Level 5 Diploma Special FX & Prosthetic Makeup Assessment – Today was the big day, 10 months of learning the ropes of prosthetic making, the last and final assessment. The big one…. Since April 2020, I have been learning and been challenged with character design, sculpting, casting, drafting, running to organising a photoshoot to show off my work. I learnt how to postiche a beard, style a wig and sew a pleat skirt. It also was my first time working with foam to create the hammer prop and the armour for my character. It has been an amazing journey, with lot’s of laughter, tears and hang wringing and I am very proud of the end result. Thank you to the amazing individuals, who made this all bring together for me. Chinique, you are an absolute star, stepping in like you did. And Maxine and Jake, I don’t know how to ever thank you appropriately for finding ways to make this happen, despite the challenges we were facing, and taking the amazing photos.
